PickleCue ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") and related services.

1.1 Information You Provide
When you use PickleCue, you may provide us with:
- Account Information: Email address, name, profile photo, and skill level when you create an account
- Profile Data: Playing preferences, availability, DUPR rating (if linked), and biography
- User Content: Court reviews, photos, game descriptions, and messages to other players
- Payment Information: If you make purchases, payment processing is handled by third-party providers (Apple/Stripe)
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect your location to show nearby courts and games. You can disable this in your device settings.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information
- Usage Data: App interactions, features used, screens viewed, and time spent in the app
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and crash reports
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Sign in with Apple: If you use Apple Sign-In, we receive your Apple ID, name (if shared), and email (which may be a private relay address)
- Court Data: Public information about pickleball court locations from various sources
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Show you nearby courts, games, and players
- Match you with suitable playing partners based on skill level
- Send you game reminders and notifications (with your consent)
- Process transactions and send related information
- Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the App
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or illegal activities
- Personalize your experience and provide content relevant to you
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Other Users: Your profile information (name, photo, skill level) is visible to other users. Game participants can see who else has joined.
- Service Providers: We use third-party services for hosting (Supabase), analytics, and push notifications. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Analytics and Tracking
We use analytics tools to understand how users interact with PickleCue and to improve our services:
- Mixpanel: We use Mixpanel to analyze app usage patterns, feature adoption, and user journeys. This helps us identify areas for improvement.
- Sentry: We use Sentry to track and diagnose app crashes and errors, helping us maintain a stable experience.
- Apple Analytics: We receive aggregated, anonymized data from Apple about app downloads and usage.
These tools collect anonymized or pseudonymized data. You can limit analytics collection through your device's privacy settings.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider with enterprise-grade security. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Row-Level Security (RLS) policies on all database tables
- Regular security audits and updates
- Secure authentication with Apple Sign-In
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Update
You can access and update your account information through the App's Settings menu.
6.2 Location Data
You can disable location services in your device settings. Note that some features (like finding nearby courts) require location access.
6.3 Push Notifications
You can manage notification preferences in the App or disable them in your device settings.
6.4 Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through Settings > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your profile, game history, and associated data. Some information may be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes.

7. Children's Privacy
PickleCue is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. International Users
PickleCue is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., Google Maps for directions). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
